Lubbock Animal Shelter at 3323 Southeast Loop 289, Lubbock, Texas.

Absolutely horrible service! Our small dog (on a leash) got attacked at our apartment complex by a large dog NOT on a leash that was out running loose. My husband and i called animal services, they came and picked up the dog and the next day, they released it back to the owners! They were supposed to have kept the dangerous dog in their possession until after the case hearing. But they didn’t?! The lady who was hearing our case was shocked LAS released the dog back to its owner. It should have been in their care until the hearing and until after a decision was made. The dog owners have moved to a different house and are avoiding the hearing ruling of putting the dog down or meeting city codes to keep the dangerous dog. Now LAS has basically given up and has ‘been looking for the owners’ for almost a month now. They should have never let the dog go, they ruled it as a dangerous dog! Kira Reimath at LAS is no help at all and does not seem proactive in anyway. If it’s a dangerous dog and the owners had 15 days to make a decision on their dog, now they don’t have to worry about anything! LAS is so sloppy and unprofessional.
